Speakers for March meetings at the Athena Network

The West Berkshire Athena Network is a supportive networking group for businesswomen; each meetings includes lunch, structured networking and a talk on a business topic.

The Newbury West group meets on Thursday 12th March at the Red House in Marsh Benham where Flick Lucas of Ridgeway Nutrition will be sharing learnings from the book ‘Will it Make the Boat Go Faster’ discussing how the British rowing team’s strategy can benefit your business.  In addition, Katherine Wilkes of James Cowper Kreston will be suggesting ways to be an effective listener.

The Hungerford group meets on Friday 13th March at Audley Inglewood, Kintbury where author and leadership coach Rachel Maunder will be giving tips on how to manage nerves, as well as how to write a talk and deliver it.

The Newbury Central group meets on Wednesday, 18th March at Arigato on Bridge Street, Newbury where Natasha Sedgwick from Berkshire Business Growth Hub will be explaining how the Government-funded growth project supports SME’s at all stages of their journey, through fully funded and impartial business advice.

Regional director for the Athena Network in West Berkshire, Debbie Miles, said: “Sometimes it is tough to run a business and take the time out to develop essential business skills. That’s why one of The Athena Network’s objectives is to help small business owners to develop both personal and business-related expertise. With topics ranging from presentation skills and effective listening to success strategies, and understanding the support that is offered by the Government funded business growth hub, attendees will go home with useful knowledge and advice.”

All meetings take place from 12pm to 2.30pm and places must be booked in advance via www.theathenanetwork.com/debbiemiles/
