A local care provider has recently celebrated a strong result in the CQC inspection, which took place in September and October of last year. The service achieved ‘Outstanding’ in the well-led standard, with inspectors recognising the “exceptional” level of service leadership, management and governance; which assured high-quality, person-centred care, supported learning and innovation, and promoted an open, fair culture.
Bluebird Care Newbury is the only provider of at home and live-in care to attain an ‘Outstanding’ in the well-led standard in the Basingstoke and Deane, Hart or West Berkshire areas.
Bluebird Care Newbury secured an overall rating of ‘Good’ from the CQC and the report highlighted that “there was a strong sense of social responsibility, which translated into the provider playing a key role in keeping people connected with their community by avoiding social isolation. The provider viewed the wellbeing of people and staff as of paramount importance, investing time and resources to ensure they felt valued and cared for.”
Additionally, the CQC said: “The provider was constantly evolving the service through the implementation of new technology. The benefits to this helped make the service safer and more accessible for people. The provider was constantly evolving the service through the implementation of new technology. To celebrate, the team organised a craft and cuppa event on Wednesday 19th February for all its hardworking team members, as well as customers, to thank them for their commitment and support.
The event also marked the two-year anniversary of the launch of Bluebird Care Newbury’s Care Hub, which provides information and resources relating to adult social care as well as offering space and resources for charities and local organisations working with and on behalf of older people.
Over 50 team members and customers attended the event and it was a huge success.
John Prendergast and Phil Miles, Directors of Bluebird Care Newbury, said: “The credit for our ‘Outstanding’ rating must go to our amazing office teams who work in Kingsclere, Fleet and Newbury and our wonderful Care Assistants who work tirelessly to care for and support our customers in their own homes – so that they can live as independently as possible with the people and things around them that they love.”
Jane Ayre, a Bluebird Care customer said: “Craft’n’cuppa is great fun. Everybody needs some fun in their lives and if you’re living alone it doesn’t came too often. It’s nice to meet other local residents because loneliness creeps upon you very easily and you can learn to live with it which is not good.”
