News from Friends of Hungerford Primary School

News from the Friends of Hungerford Primary School – January 2020

The Friends of Hungerford Primary School (formerly PTA) is a charitable organisation formed by parents, which supports Hungerford Primary to provide the best educational experience for our children.

We work with the school to provide support, both financial and practical.

We fund-raise, make grant applications and try to find skilled induviduals to help us.

We also support parents directly with practical solutions such as our second hand school umiform sales.

In addition to supporting the school in its everyday needs we are currently building relationships between the school and other Hungerford-based groups to raise the profile of the school in the community.

Jumble Sale

Hungerford Town Hall, 11am to2pm Saturday 8 February

Back and bigger than before! Second-hand is on trend and eco-friendly. Come and join us for a guilt free shopping experience. Refreshments will also be available.

If you can help with donations in advance of the event or donations of cakes and biscuits on the day please get in touch with us.

We are looking for a sponsor for this event to help cover venue costs and vehicle hire. This event will be marketed to every home in Hungerford with a flyer drop in January, so it’s a great opportunity for publicity. If your company is interested we would love to hear from you. Please email Hungerford.primary.pta@gmail.com

Shopping at the Co-op

We applied to the Co-op community Fund and have been chosen as a local cause this year!

We want to buy some floor robots to teach students computer programming skills to prepare them for future success in life

If you’re a member of the Co-op, please log in and select us as the cause you’d like to support. If you’re not a member, please do sign up. Being a member gives you savings in store too. Go to www.coop.co.uk

Halloween Disco (hair) raises funds

Spookily dressed children and parents had a really fun evening at our family disco.

How else can you support us?

Did you know that you can support us while you do your online shopping? You can do this really easily through Give as You Live: giveasyoulive.com/join/hungerfordprimarypta

Or through Amazon Smile: smile.amazon.co.uk

You can also buy West Berkshire Lottery tickets in support of our cause, and be in with the chance of winning some cash yourself. If you haven’t signed up yet visit our page:

westberkshirelottery.co.uk/support/friends-of-hungerford-primary-school

If just 10 tickets are bought every month we are eligible to apply for West Berkshire lottery grants.

Thank you

Finally, and most importantly, thank you to all our lovely local businesses who support us, and our teachers, fellow parents and children who help to make all these plans come to fruition!
