Five a Day Market Garden is a not-for-profit community gardening and horticultural therapy project in the tranquil hamlet of Englefield, approximately seven miles west of Reading. (See this video tour of the garden).
Volunteers look after the one-acre garden where they grow flowers, fruit and vegetables which are sold locally. This productive and beautiful garden provides perfect opportunities for groups of schoolchildren, uniformed groups, adult learners and older people to enjoy organised sessions.
The Management Committee is currently registering Five a Day as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) which will give the project charity status.
Post: Development Officer
Hours: 20 to 35 hours per week, it (varies with the seasons)
Remuneration: £12 to £14.00/hr according to experience, plus essential travel expenses
Base: Five a Day Market Garden, The Street, Englefield RG7 5EL
Reports to: The Management Committee.
The Development Officer will be self-employed and invoice Five a Day monthly in arrears.
