Matt Ward Karate success at The World International Martial Art’s Competition for Cancer Research 2019

Congratulations to the local Matt Ward Karate club which entered The World International Martial Arts Competition for Cancer Research 2019 at Crystal Palace, and brought home medals in just about every category. 

They took home 27 medals in total (see below) and won the most medals out of every club there. 

Here is the list of what they won:

Girls:
Caitriona Durack – 3 gold medals – kata / team kata / kumite
Madge Hutchinson – 2 gold medals – weapons / team weapons
Freya Coleman – gold – team kata, 2 silver – team weapons / kumite
Kerry Hillier – gold – team kata, silver – kata, bronze – weapons
Maddie Winter – silver – kumite
Holly Annetts – 2 silver – kata / kumite
Ellie Keenan and Daisy Godfrey – joint bronze medal – kata
Evie MacLeod – bronze – kumite

Boys:
Jake Aldridge – gold – kata
Thomas Durack – silver – kata
Dylon Freestone – 4th place kata
Euan MacLeod – silver – kumite, bronze – weapons

Adults:
Matt Ward – gold – kumite, silver – weapons
Sam Beddoes – 2 silver – kata / weapons
Nic Korkmaz – bronze – kata
Sam Wilkinson – gold – kata
