Ridgeway Rise Care Home

Ridgeway Rise is a purpose built, luxury care home that offers nursing, residential, dementia and respite care.

Encompassing 73 spacious and beautifully decorated rooms and located in Blunsdon St Andrews area of North Swindon, the Home enjoys sweeping and breathtaking views over Swindon.

The ethos of the home is to make every day as interesting and as enjoyable as possible. This is achieved by combining the highest quality of care alongside a variety of enriching activities, based on resident’s individual preferences, all designed to enhance residents’ well-being and sense of routine.

Our Aim

The care we give to our residents is straightforward, practical and above all, tailored to their individual needs.

We take the time to get to know our residents, to help them retain connections to their family and friends their community and their past.

Everyone has rich history of life experiences and we want to make the most of these in care we provide.

We understand the importance of supporting our residents to stay active and enjoy life. We work very closely with our residents who have memory and communication problems, as well as their relatives and friends, to create life stories and design the activities that the residents will enjoy.

With a dedicated on-site chef, we always have plenty of tempting culinary choices on offer. We vary our menus on a daily basis while retaining familiar favourites. We accommodate all dietary and cultural requirements.

As well as providing residents with the opportunity to take part in national events and holidays, such as Burn’s Night, Valentine’s Day, St George’s Day and Bonfire Night, we have plenty of themed events, meals and treats to look forward to.

All our bedrooms have their own TV, adjustable bed, contemporary furniture, access to Internet and en-suite wet room.

In addition to this, the majority of ground floor bedrooms have direct access to their own patio and garden. With central balconies bringing the outside in, first and second floor rooms benefit from stunning views across Swindon and Wiltshire Downs. Our central lift also provides residents access to superb-facing patio and garden.

Our Values

Our values are very much underpinned by offering our residents the best possible experience, as we appreciate the move to a care home will most likely be a major change for everyone, however at Ridgeway Rise we plan and offer support to ensure it’s a smooth and easy transition. We have carefully designed our home with facilities to promote health, safety and happiness, making the most of everyday.

Dedicated, Compassionate and Caring

Our dedicated, carefully recruited team members are compassionate and caring. With training and support, we encourage them to become Dementia Friends, so they have a full understanding of our residents’ needs.

Through a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator, we can offer something for everyone; from chair exercises and ball games to help keep fit, to choir practice and quizzes to encourage thinking and teamwork.

Our green-fingered gardens relish the opportunity to spend time in the great outdoors, making the most of the weather and outside areas.

At the same time, our keen bakers always enjoy cooking up tasty treats for everyone to enjoy.

As we view choice as a vital part of being independent, residents are free to choose what they take part in. we always ensure the activity is safe and suitable for all abilities.

Respite Care

At Ridgeway Rise we understand the challenges that family carers face when looking after a loved one. It is difficult to care for yourself when you are caring for another, but everyone needs to rest at some point. Whether it is to help care for your loved one after a hospital stay to get them back on their feet, or to get a well-deserved break to recharge, get some medical treatment for yourself or just to take some time out, we have created a short term respite package to allow you to take the time off, knowing that your loved one is in safe, caring hands.

Our Dream Catcher Project

We encourage our residents not to give up on their dreams by running the Dream Catcher project, where we capture residents’ wishes and dreams and no matter how challenging and extravagant we aim to fulfil them.

In July Ridgeway Rise was visited by National Citizen Service. The group of young people prepared fun activities for the care home residents. They were given a Dementia Friends information session, delivered by the Alzheimer’s Society Champion to provide them with more information on symptoms and typical behaviours in dementia.

Residents enjoyed different board games, crocheting, making cards and the picnic in the garden.
