Climate Change Talk By Dr. Mike Morecroft

Climate change seems to always be in the news these days. The science shows that the world is warming as a result of human activities as well as increasing evidence of the effects on people and nature due to heatwaves, droughts, floods, and wildfire. Many people are deeply worried about climate change as recent protests show, but what can we actually do about it?  Can we really make a difference? This talk will give us an overview of the science and some of the solutions, both in terms of what we can do as individuals and collectively.

Dr. Mike Morecroft has spent most of his scientific career doing research on the impacts of climate change on the natural environment. He currently works for the government conservation agency Natural England, is an Honorary Research Associate at Oxford University, and a lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. He is also a Hungerford resident and a licensed lay minister at St. Lawrence’s Church.
