The Town & Manor of Hungerford is a local charity whose purpose is to manage its assets, now and in the future, for the benefit of the inhabitants of Hungerford. It is run by ten trustees and all will have completed their terms of office in June 2019 (though may stand again if there wish). If there are ten or fewer nominations then all those nominated will be appointed: if there are 11 or more (as is often the case) then there will be an election.
The two key dates are:
Noon on Saturday 1 June, when all nominations need to have been handed in to the Town Hall; and
9am to 7pm on Thursday 20 June when the elections, if required, will take place, also in the Town Hall.
For for more information on the role of the trustees, how you can be nominated (you don’t need to live in Hungerford to become a trustee but you do need to be nominated and seconded by two people who are themselves eligible to vote) and other relevant information, please see this page on the Town and Manor’s website.
If an election is to be held it’s expected that this will be announced on or very shortly after Monday 3 June.
