West Berkshire residents from January 2019 have contributed £2,508.49 to the £1 million raised for charities, schools, and non-profits by taking part in TerraCycle’s Recycling Programmes

West Berkshire Residents have been raising money for Canine Partners by sending waste to TerraCycle for recycling. £1 million has now been raised through TerraCycle’s recycling programmes across the UK, of which £2.525.65 has been raised by Jana Little on behalf of the West Berkshire Residents.

Jana Little and her wombles set up and administrates a TerraCycle public access drop off locations to recycle waste that cannot be recycled through traditional local curbside collections in West Berkshire.

Several brands such as Walkers, KP, Kinder, Hovis, Garnier, Colgate, Ella’s Kitchen, Pringles, Finish and many other corporations have partnered with recycling experts TerraCycle to set up free recycling programmes to offer recycling solutions for consumers across the UK. For each shipment of waste Jana Little sends into TerraCycle, they earn TerraCycle points which can be redeemed as a monetary reward for the charity, school or non-profit of their choice. Jana Little on behalf of the residents donates their TerraCycle points to Canine Partners who use it to support more people with disabilities to transform lives.

Jana Little commented: “It feels fantastic that the West Berkshire community upped their recycling efforts locally and in turn contributed to the £1 million raised for charities, schools and non-profits across the country via TerraCycle. Our community has been working hard to help raise £2,508.49 for Canine Partners and £17.16 for Hungerford Primary PTA. Whilst we have raised a lot of money so far, Canine Partners is always in need of further donations and you can really help by dropping off your waste for recycling.

“We collect on multiple of TerraCycle’s recycling programmes, and so far we have saved 1,767.9 kg from landfill. The West Berkshire residents can boost our recycling efforts by dropping off the recycling to our public access recycling box(es)/bins at the above-mentioned locations. We also ask that you help us by spreading the word to anybody who would like to recycle this waste which can’t be accepted by the local council recycling collections.”
