Refugee Resource event at Maymessy Cookery School near Wantage

Refugee Resource

Thirty women from the charity Refugee Resource and a group of students from Wellington College recently swapped cooking skills at two workshops hosted by Maymessy.

Bringing these two diverse groups together was Maymessy CIC, who won funding last year from the High Sheriff’s Community Integration Awards. Organised by the Oxfordshire Community Foundation, these grants are given to local enterprises where projects bring together people from different backgrounds to build mutual understanding and encourage a sense of belonging to the wider community.

Refugee Resource, Saturday 22 June 2019

There will be another Refugee Resource event at Maymessy on 22 June when the the charity will have its annual day out. We are having a cultural celebration of food and a large picnic on the grounds of Maymessy. They are bringing their husbands and families so there might be around 100 of them.

Can you help?

Maymessy is looking for help on the day (the event takes place  from 12 midday to 6pm), as well as donations of disposable cups for hot and cold drinks. If you can help, please email [email protected].
