What’s on at The Athena Network in February

Debbie Miles from the West Berkshire Athena Network says that February is traditionally the month of love – why not show your business some love too?

Thank your customers. Express appreciation to those who have trusted you with their business, whether through a loyalty programme, a discount on future business or a simple thank you. Customer retention through paying attention to and rewarding existing customers, is far more cost and time efficient than marketing for new customers.

Appreciate your employees. The UK average employee turnover rate is approximately 15% a year. This adds a huge cost in terms of time and money, so why not show some extra appreciation this month, to your employees who keep your business flowing.

Create a great working relationship with your suppliers. Collaboration is key, so develop good communication and mutual trust between you. This will result in both cost and time efficiency benefits, continuity, flexibility and a far stronger team.

Love yourself.  When did you last evaluate what you’ve done right? How about a little bit of self-congratulation. Give yourself a treat for running a successful business and contributing to the well-being of others.

Debbie Miles runs the four Athena groups in West Berkshire with a membership of local businesses supporting and inspiring each other for mutual success.
