The Lambourn Centre

Opened in 1993 as a purpose-built community facility, the Lambourn Centre is situated in the heart of the village of Lambourn and provides a range of sport and leisure activities for the community of Lambourn and beyond.

It has developed an extensive and diverse programme that meets the needs of the local population and is home to local voluntary groups and organisations including a popular Mother and Toddler Group.

The Expressions Gym is equipped with 20 pieces of cardio-vascular and resistance training machines.

There is a fully equipped meeting room and a business service area where customers can use the computer, the internet and printing facilities. Ideal for holding meetings or training courses, our meeting rooms room is also the home of Lambourn Racehorse Trainers ‘Hall of Fame’.

The Centre also has a two-court sports hall, club room, hairdressing salon and sauna.

The Centre works closely with Get Berkshire Active and in the past year,  has introduced a number of popular activities  for the over 50s such as walking football and new-age bowls (at The Lambourn Centre – the walking netball in the video is at Tilehurst) and classes to help with preventing falls.

During the past year, the Centre has enjoyed complete refurbishment and re-decoration of the changing rooms. In addition the gym has been upgraded with an extended free weights area.

Testimonials

“The staff are really friendly – their birthday parties are brilliant – the kids love the soft play and bouncy castle.” Jane

“I’ve brought all my kids to the Valley Under-5s Toddler Group, it’s a great way to meet other mums in the village.” Rebecca

“I never knew the Centre had such a large gym , it’s on two levels. There is plenty of room to work out and they have personal trainers as well.” Ben
