Hungerford Leisure Centre

Hungerford Leisure Centre is very much a key part of the community. The Centre is linked to John O’Gaunt School and shares the main sports hall and gymnasium facilities. This arrangement has enabled the Centre to build a strong relationship which benefits the pupils of the school and customers of the Leisure Centre.

The Centre has a very attractive 25 metre swimming pool with a timber-frame roof structure that enhances the overall appearance. The pool recently upgraded their lane lines to anti-wave which has proved to be very popular with our regular club and lane swimmers. The pool hosts many user groups including five local primary schools, John O’Gaunt school, Newbury Swimming Club and over 350 children of all ages currently on the Aquazone swimming lesson programme. Disability swimming, parent and toddler 50+ sessions and inflatable parties are also on the regular swimming timetable, as are plenty of general and adult lane-swimming sessions.

The fitness suite has 26 stations providing a great variety of exercise options. In late 2018 this area was completely refurbished with brand new state-of-the-art equipment and a layout change. The Centre now provides an excellent platform to help individuals to achieve their fitness resolutions. Please contact a member of our friendly team (see details at foot of this post). We’d love to show you around our newly refurbished facility and help you achieve your goals!

Exercise classes. A wide range of these are available. For more information, click here (and select ‘Class Timetable’), or contact us (see below).

The sports hall is a community facility after 5.30pm on Monday to Friday and all day weekends. This large facility holds four badminton courts, basketball, indoor football and cricket nets. The space attracts a varied programme of user groups from martial arts, the local badminton club, Hungerford Cricket Club, Hungerford Town Football Club and a local netball group.

Children’s activities are catered for as well. The Centre hosts a popular holiday activity scheme (Camp Adventure) and is also available for children’s parties at weekends.

The gymnasium is where the majority of fitness classes are held throughout the week: it also hosts a popular children’s gymnastic programme.

For more details, including information on timetables, prices and bookings, visit the Centre in person, call 01488 683303 or visit our website.
