Sue Lucey at Art & Soul in Marlborough offers a variety of art courses to develop and inspire creativity where you can meet new people in a relaxed, casual environment, and escape for a little while from all the things that make us forget who we are.
Sue works in a variety of media and teaches ceramics (kiln on site), printmaking, acrylic painting, painting on plaster and paper making.

All courses are designed for absolute beginners, and for those wishing to develop their creative skills and take place in Sue’s charming Grade II listed home in Marlborough.
Art Course Information
The courses are for a maximum of eight people, but will still run if fewer attend. If you would like to bring your own resources to work from please do. All resources & materials will be provided and any work produced is yours to take home at the end of the day.
Two Day Courses (include informal lunch)
Printmaking– An introduction to printmaking using three different techniques: Poly print, Block printing and Lino.
Ceramic Jewellery – Design & create ceramic beads and shapes using impressed decoration techniques. These can be used to make earrings and necklaces.
This is a two day/evening course, on consecutive weekends as work will need to be fired before glazing.
The second day will consist of use of oxides and glazing.
Work will then be fired and finished pieces will be sent to those attending the course.
Lino Printing on clay – To create a lino cut, and use to create impressed tiles in clay. This is a two day course on consecutive weekends as work will need to be fired and glazed on the second day of the course.
One Day Courses (include informal lunch)
Introduction to Acrylics – To introduce how to paint flowers, with acrylics, colour mixing and blending. Drawing out and painting A composition on canvas.
Painting on plaster – This is a beautiful technique, and a lovely way of creating one off pieces. Initially we will create plaster blocks that we will then paint on using watercolour, layering colour. This course can be completed as a day course or two day or evening sessions

Fine Line Pen Mark Marking – ink and watercolour overlay technique
Oil Pastel and Watercolour Resist Technique
Clay Tiles – with impressed and incised decoration

Making Ceramic Buttons and Beads
Decorating and Glazing Ceramic Buttons and Beads
