Thames Valley Kings looking for new sponsorship with the launch of 2018/19 Sponsorship proposal.
Berkshire’s oldest wheelchair basketball club, The Thames Valley Kings are looking for new sponsorship for their 2018/19 season. The Kings are a friendly diverse club that provides opportunities for both male and female players of all ages to come and enjoy Wheelchair Basketball.
The club has continued to expand year on year – and are now supporting two full adult and one junior team with over 25 active members and even more participants regularly taking part. The Kings are also one of the benchmark wheelchair basketball clubs in the country winning British Wheelchair Basketball’s Club of the Year in 2016 and are Clubmark accredited. The Kings are also seeing sporting success as well, with the adults winning Division Three South West and the Junior’s coming 5th overall in the UK.
Head of Marketing, Peter Scoins states “NOW really is the best time to get involved and support one of the growing grassroots clubs that are helping produce the Paralympics stars of tomorrow! With Wheelchair Basketball as a sport itself, really experiencing an upward trend towards an apex right now with the Men’s and Women’s GB Teams both performing exceptionally well – The Men currently on top of the mountain as World Champions – and with very high hopes for medals in Tokyo 2020 and beyond. The Kings also believe they are ‘more than just a club’ and are working hard off the court to make a real social change in disability awareness and getting and keeping people active – with 90% of members reporting increase social engagement and 78% reporting better mental health.
Peter Scoins added “We’re also not just about ‘game days’ – We want to be out there, continuing to showcase this great sport to the wider community but that obviously comes at a cost for resources – This year we are planning to engage with more schools, community groups, and events than ever before!”
