Important information regarding Hungerford Skate Park

There have recently been incidents of anti-social behaviour – including an arson attack – at the Hungerford skate park. Following advice from the Police, The Town Council has decided to remove the shelter, which encourages bad behaviour and is an eyesore. This has now happened and we hope the change will make the park a safer place to use.

In September, a popular skating demonstration and skills day was run at the skate park by local experts King Ramps. Olympic skateboarders gave demonstrations and advice and prizes were awarded. This was very successful and saw the park being used well by local skateboarders, for the purpose it is intended. The Town Council may consider holding this event again. The organisers of this event also recommended removal of the shelter.

The Town Council encourages respectful use of the park. Please use the bins to dispose of litter, note the signage and safety rules displayed and use the park only during the new opening times (8am to 8pm).
