ARK is a registered charity and a member of the River Trust. We campaign, provide information, monitor the health of the river and carry out large and small scale river restoration projects along the Kennet and its tributaries. Many of our projects include huge volunteer input and our ever growing volunteer team help in a variety of ways, from packing newsletters into envelopes to becoming one of our trained water vole surveyors!
ARK is a group of people who care about the River Kennet. Our members include local people who enjoy having a healthy river as part of their living environment; tourists and visitors who enjoy walking by and fishing in the Kennet; and environmentalists who want to see a valuable chalk stream protected.
Membership is only £20 a year for individuals of £30 for a family. You will be helping us deliver our projects and protecting a globally rare ecosystem. Did you know there are only about 200 chalk streams in the world supporting a wealth of species? Over 160 of them are in England. Members receive two newsletters and one Annual Report a year and invitations to events. Visit our website to download a Join Today form.
