Do you enjoy reading and want to talk about the book? Then come to Lambourn Library at 4.30pm on the second Tuesday each month. Recently we have read Stuart, A Life Backwards by Alexander Masters, Children Act by Ian McEwan and We Are Completely Besides Ourselves by Karen Joy Fowler.

Proposed Changes to Newspaper and Magazine Provision
Owing to the increased range of digital magazines now available through our RBDigital platform and the increasing cost and diminishing use of traditional format magazines and newspapers, we are planning to make some changes to the provision of newspapers and magazines in West Berkshire libraries over the next 12 months.
Lambourn Library displays the i every day they are open, and the Newbury Weekly News every week. In addition we plan to subscribe to a new online newspaper service which provides access to a comprehensive range of titles both in the library and remotely. And we also have the following magazines available: Good Housekeeping, House & Garden, Ideal Home, Prima
The library relies on volunteers to stay open as there needs to be at least one volunteer on duty at all times. Anyone interested in joining the library team as a volunteer should contact Gemma Taylor on email@example.com or pop in to the library for a chat.

At Home Library Service
If you are housebound, West Berkshire Libraries can arrange for a volunteer to visit you at home with a small selection of library items. There is no charge for this service, except when you request a book not held in any West Berkshire library.

The Mobile Library carries about 1,500 books to choose from, including Large Print, audio books, and books for children.
You can borrow books or order titles you want that aren’t on the van – for free!
This is a great service and as regular reader Joan Jeffries said ‘I don’t know what I’d do without it’.
If you or someone you know wants to try it, just turn up – Alan the driver will be very pleased to welcome you on board.
The mobile library visits Great Shefford and East Garston every third Thursday. See dates and times below.
