West Berkshire Mencap held its very own mini summer music festival last week to raise cash to help local people with learning disabilities.
As Glastonbury got into full swing last Friday, the Mencap Centre at Enborne Gate rocked to performances by Jimmy Rocket and Helen, Rock Choir, We Were Breached, Two Hat Day, Newbury Musical Theatre Society and a surprise extra performance from Mark a local Elvis Impersonator.
The Annual Music Night raised a fantastic £777.39, with all the local artists performing for free so all of the money from ticket sales could go directly to the charity. Tescos at London Road also kindly provided the food needed for the buffet for all the guests to enjoy!
The next fundraiser will be a family photography day at the Enborne Gate centre, Newbury, this Sunday July 6th from 11am until 4pm. Adam Hillier Photography will be donating 20% of their proceeds to West Berkshire Mencap. To book your session ring the Mencap Centre on 01635 41464.
