Well look no further, we are trained nutritionists and we have our own pets and a wealth of experience in looking after puppies and kittens, the Oscar website also contains lots of very useful information. As an Oscar customer you would have free access to qualified vets, behaviourists, nutritionists and training advice.
If you’re starting out with a new puppy or kitten, feeding the right balanced diet will yield dividends in the long term health of your pet. It is important to read the feeding instructions and don’t over feed as this can lead to an overweight dog.
For example, there are so many different treats and chews on offer, but not all are suitable for puppies, so how can you be sure you’re getting the right product, how can you be sure they’re good for your young pet? We here at Oscar can answer all of the questions you may have and much more. Always remember, if you feed treats it is vital to reduce the amount of food fed at mealtimes, otherwise again you’ll end up with an overweight dog.
We ourselves have an 8 month old Cockerpoo, who is delightful and has had the best start in life and is currently eating Oscar junior food. We encourage him to chew (treats not the furniture!) as this ensures that his teeth & gums remain healthy and tartar build up is kept to a minimum, which in turn will avoid costly trips to the vets in later life to have what could be a risky teeth clean.
Our cat Lulu loves her Oscar cat food, which is coated with a special stay clean coating, which activates when eaten to aid healthy teeth & gums.

Just like humans, animals need a different diet as they are developing and Oscar food caters for the different growing stages. You can be assured that all our food is made from top quality human grade ingredients and contains all of the supplements needed for healthily growth, but no artificial colours, preservatives or anti-moulding agents. All our junior and puppy food is gluten free.
We also have a range of treats that are ideal to be used as training aids, again all made to the same high quality as our own food.
Winter warning
If you walk your dog on gritted roads/paths please make sure that their paws are washed either by walking them through a few puddles away from the gritted surfaces or by dipping their feet in fresh water once at home. Every year hundreds of pets throughout the country become seriously ill and in some cases die because of the rock salt and antifreeze being used during the cold snap. Dogs and cats walk through the substances left by gritters trying to clear roads and car drivers defrosting their windscreens and then lick them off their paws. Consuming rock salt can cause dehydration, liver failure and pancreatitis, while antifreeze contains the chemical ethylene glycol, which can be lethal when ingested.
