Volunteer Drivers needed to support Young Carers Project!

West Berkshire’s Young Carers Project desperately needs drivers to take young people from across West Berkshire to and from the Young Carers Group in Newbury on Monday evenings. This could be in your own car or in our 9 seater mini bus.

The project supports young carers looking after family members and relatives. This could be because of a physical disability, learning disability, mental health problem, substance misuse problems or because they are elderly and frail.

Young carers have big responsibilities and often miss out on the carefree social lives that most young people enjoy. The Project works to give them the practical help and support and some much needed time out and fun too.

Parents of young carers find it difficult to transport their children to the clubs, groups and activities we run, so they often miss out.

There are two sessions. The first session is for 8-11 year olds and the second for 11-16 year olds. The timings are 4.00pm – 6.00pm for the younger group and 6.30pm – 8.30pm for the older group.

If you can help these young people to enjoy a well earned break please email [email protected] or call  01635 43639.

Full DBS checks will be undertaken for all volunteers.
