Healthy Food Tips from Honesty
It can be important to know how a certain food and its nutritional content affects our health, but of more importance is looking at our eating choices and diet as a whole. An interesting diet to try to look at is the Mediterranean diet.
Consisting of lots of vegetables, fruits, beans, cereals and moderate amounts of fish, white meat and some dairy produce, the Mediterranean diet is naturally low in highly-processed foods and includes healthy fats – monounsaturated fat in olive oil and polyunsaturated fat in nuts and oily fish. The overall combination of these foods makes for such a healthy way to eat.
Slapping some olive oil on a diet full of ultra-processed foods is unlikely to do anything but, as a whole, having a diet similar to that of the Mediterranean could make a significant difference with noticeable health benefits.
