HEROS Charity in Fawley is offering a unique opportunity for six adults to take part in its new entry-level Get Started! course that helps prepare people for the working world in any industry (not just equestrian).
The course is funded by West Berkshire Council’s Community Education Fund and is for learners living in West Berkshire.
Get Started! is a one-day-a-week programme over six weeks, offered free of charge to learners.
Through practical work experience learners will:
- Improve confidence and self esteem
- Practise teamwork, problem solving and organisational skills
- Improve numeracy and literacy
- Increase employment prospects
- Learn how to look after horses
- Gain practical skills in handling horses
- Receive a certificate outlining achievements
Opportunities for progression:
Learners will receive post-course advice and guidance, and be referred onwards as appropriate for further training (e.g. traineeship, apprenticeship or other accredited course) or a work placement.
