Nick Lumley in Peterloo

Local actor Nick Lumley was delighted to have the opportunity to work with Mike Leigh in his latest film Peterloo about the 1819 Peterloo Massacre where British forces attacked a peaceful pro-democracy rally in Manchester.

Nick (third from the left in the back row above) plays one of the magistrates who make the decision to order in the forces.

In true Mike Leigh form, Nick was asked to spend weeks researching the back story of his character.
