Hungerford actor Nick Lumley is currently in his fourth week of rehearsals with the RSC, working on Dr Faustus and Don Quixote (which will run at the Swan Theatre in Stratford upon Avon from 4 February 2016) but has taken a few minutes to talk to PP about his recent telly appearance.
Nick played brummy Lenny Hutchinson with parenting problems in Doctors on BBC 1 on Monday 30 November. “The Doctors filming was fast,” Nick reports. “very few takes and a fantastically efficient crew who set up the scenes really quickly without too much attention to subtle lighting but I was very pleased with the results. They are a very friendly and welcoming bunch and a great location on the outskirts of Birmingham. Lorna Laidlaw playing Mrs Tenbe was a joy to work with. I’m only sorry there wasn’t another episode where I could have sorted my wayward son out…”
