New Life is a registered charity dedicated to raising funds for local special care baby units, helping to increase the chance of survival for many premature and seriously ill babies. The charity was founded by Trevor Goodall in memory of his sons Joshua and Samuel.
This year is a big year for the charity as we hope to reach our £500,000 fundraising target since the launch of the charity. Last year we raised an amazing £37,000 and donated £35,000.
We pride ourselves on supporting the small local neonatal units such as Swindon, Yeovil, Basingstoke, Reading, Oxford and Yeovil hospitals as they find it difficult to get funding for vital life saving equipment.
All the money we raise goes directly to helping these incredible units by buying essential items such as photo therapy units, milk warmers, incubators, Neo-Pod T system, jaundice testing machines, cardiac monitors, reuses trolleys. We also help to refurbish family rooms, the most recent being the Poppy room at Swindon.
At the moment we are currently purchasing Swindon Hospital a premature baby mannequin which will be essential in training doctors, midwives and nurses in neonatal resuscitation.
The great thing about our charity is that we can confirm funding and purchase the equipment in a matter of days, getting the equipment to the hospitals much faster than they would otherwise find possible.
