It’s Back! The “Annual Fundraising MS Challenge” takes place in the Brecon Beacons where teams of 10-12 people carry a wheelchair passenger with MS around a demanding and exhilarating course set out by the navy.
My Mum had MS and we did the MS Challenge with her 15 years ago. We all found it completely exhilarating – and my Mum in the passenger seat was able to recapture the excitement and freedom of adventure.
This is a physical team challenge like no other. THE TEAM will face tough terrain including steep inclines, rugged ground and even need to navigate their passenger through a small tunnel. THE PASSENGER will be sat in a wheelchair attached to a framework on a white knuckle journey as they are lifted, passed, and manoeuvred over the course. Thanks to their team they will gain the chance to see incredible views that they wouldn’t normally get access to.
All previous entrants have loved this event! Be prepared to get dirty and have a lot of fun! You will be representing Swindon Therapy Centre and taking part with other teams from around the country and giving someone with MS an experience they will remember for a long time!
This is open to TEAMS who LOVE an outdoor challenge with a difference OR ANYONE who would like to join an all-star style team alongside other people. If this is you, get in touch for a pack: [email protected]
In the past we’ve had entrants from Intel, Les Slinn Fitness, Bank of New York Mellon, National Instruments, and Carillion who have used it as a team building event, as well as plenty of other thrill seekers from far and wide.
Why not make a weekend of it – get in touch if you would like campsite or other accommodation details for the event.
All monies raised will go towards Swindon Therapy Centre for Multiple Sclerosis’s £150,000 costs of helping people with MS and other conditions face the terrifying consequences of having these life long illnesses.
Swindon Therapy Centre for Multiple Sclerosis is a small self funding local charity which offers a lifeline of support to the community, devoted to anyone young or old who needs our help. We are the only centre in the area who can help children and babies and we also offer our Oxygen chamber facilities to those recovering from broken bones or sports injuries; as well as helping people with strokes, cerebral palsy, ME, brain injury, parkinson’s, cancer and carbon monoxide poisoning.
