Why not join the Teen Rangers at the Nature Discovery Centre in Thatcham and find out how you can make a difference for local wildlife!
The Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust runs monthly sessions for teenagers between 12 and 16 years of age, helping them to get close to nature through practical conservation work.
Jone Ayres, Community Wildlife Officer at the Nature Discovery Centre, explains: “Our Teen Rangers club meets throughout the year and is a great opportunity to leave your homework and smartphone behind, get outdoors and do something positive for your local wildlife.”
The sessions are often practical and will give you the chance to learn different skills such as making bat boxes and bug hotels, reed cutting or coppicing. Bushcraft and wildlife identification or surveying also feature regularly.
Teen Rangers is currently free to join, but booking is essential. Contact Jone Ayres on 01635 874381 or [email protected] for dates and times.
