IT and Finance Volunteers needed by Age UK

Age UK Berkshire are looking for volunteers for their Money Management team. We ask our volunteers to make regular visits to our elderly clients who need help managing their finances. It may involve reading letters, bills and bank statements, help with form filling, making telephone calls and being a friendly face to our clients You will have full backup support of our office in Reading, who will also carry out a DBS check and issue ID and email address to you. We do ask for a regular commitment to visiting and reporting back to us. This is a fantastic way to support vulnerable people in your community, with the backing of a nationally recognised brand.

We are also looking for volunteers to provide IT tuition on a one-to-one basis to people over the age of 50. Many of these people are complete novices and have never used a computer. Some will have basic knowledge and want to expand their skills and others may want to learn more advanced techniques. The sessions involve one to one support and take place at Newbury Central Library on a Wednesday morning. If you are a kind and patient person and are able to explain, demonstrate and guide the learner in using a computer we would be happy to hear from you.

Expenses are paid for both these roles. Volunteers need to be over 18 years old.
