The University of the Third Age (U3A) is all about bringing like-minded people together in small interest groups to explore learning opportunities. U3A membership is not related to a specific age but to the period in one’s life known as the third age, after the second age of full-time employment and parental responsibility.
There are over 900 U3As in the UK with more than 350,000 members. Each one is run on a ‘self-help’ basis and there is no pressure to impose a formal learning pattern – it’s all about establishing an informal, enjoyable way to learn with and from each other about a topic of mutual interest. For more information please visit www.u3a.org.uk.
Hungerford U3A is a recently formed member of the national U3A movement and we come together to continue our educational, social and creative interests in a friendly and informal environment. We help members to form their own groups to follow their interests and we also organise events that are open to all members.
