The University of the Third Age (U3A) is all about bringing like-minded people together in small interest groups to explore learning opportunities. U3A membership is not related to a specific age but to the period in one’s life known as the third age, after the second age of full-time employment and parental responsibility.

There are over 900 U3As in the UK with more than 350,000 members. Each one is run on a ‘self-help’ basis and there is no pressure to impose a formal learning pattern – it’s all about establishing an informal, enjoyable way to learn with and from each other about a topic of mutual interest. For more information please visit www.u3a.org.uk.

Hungerford U3A is a recently formed member of the national U3A movement and we come together to continue our educational, social and creative interests in a friendly and informal environment. We help members to form their own groups to follow their interests and we also organise events that are open to all members.

Hungerford U3A Groups

We offer a variety of over 25 groups. These include: creative writing, computers, digital photography, finance, French (improvers & beginners), gardening, genealogy, geology, history, Italian (beginners & advanced), Motoring Matters, music appreciation, Reading 4 Pleasure, Spanish (improvers & beginners), table tennis, walking, word games. To see the full list please visit hungerfordu3a.org.uk/groups.
