The Honesty Cookery School is equipped with all you need to learn about cooking. There are two large ovens and all necessary modern cooking appliances. The stove is a large induction hob. We don’t pack our classes with participants as we feel that people learn more in a happy, intimate environment where experiences can be shared. Most classes are for no more than 8 people so you really do get hands on experience.
All equipment is provided so you just bring yourself and your enthusiasm.
The barn is also available for professional private hire. It is a good venue for private meetings, small conferences and presentations. It has a state of the art audio visual system for videos and presentations. Lunch and refreshments can be provided.
The school runs courses covering many aspects of cooking from bread making, cheese and yoghurt making, family cooking, baking as well as some informative courses relating to wine, olive oil and cheese production. Guest tutors and speakers have a wealth of knowledge to share.
The courses aim to improve proficiency and confidence in the kitchen, and cater for all abilities from the less experienced cook to the more knowledgeable. Also available body and mind courses which combine yoga/tai chi with nutritious vegetarian meals.

“Spent today on the ‘Beautiful breads’ course with Romilla Arber – had a fabulous day. The course taught techniques for different breads, including Pain de Campagne – a rustic French bread, Focaccia, cheese and onion bread and home made doughnuts! Really hands on course and you get to take everything home! Lovely relaxed lunch in a beautiful setting. Thank you.” Babs Billett
