Drew Casson: Young Hungerford Filmmaker

Congratulations to 19 year old ex-John O’Gaunt student Drew Casson who has just released his first feature film – and got his first review in The London Evening Standard no less.

Drew left JOG just two years ago and with the encouragement of his art teacher, Mr Strange, and mentoring from fellow alumnus Nigel Morgan, Drew threw all his energy into his lifelong passion of filmmaking.Drew in front of film poster

Having already garnered a 1,000,000 YouTube following from the Harry Potter spin-offs he shot in the school hall with his class mates on a zero budget, Drew was introduced to Wildseed Studios by Nigel and they were so impressed by his skill and passion they provided the funding and support so he could make his first feature film. The result is Hungerford – the sci fi-horror movie!

The film receives its world premiere at SciFi London at the National Film Theatre on May 3rd where Drew will also deliver a Q&A with the audience. A special screening in Hungerford also takes place at The Croft on Friday 9th May. This is a ticket only free screening for those in the town who helped with the movie, however if demand is great enough more screenings will be offered in the town. The film will be available soon on iTunes as well.
