Creative Difference Counselling and Life Coaching is now working from a set of lovely refurbished rooms in Chisbury, between Marlborough and Hungerford. The setting is a peaceful rural one with easy access up a lane off the A4. For those of you who have not heard of Chisbury (which is admittedly rather tiny), the nearest bigger village is Great Bedwyn.
The room I use is attached to those used by Lorna Benbow of Quiescence Wellbeing. As well as jointly running a Meditation and Awareness of Self group, we aim to offer the complete service for body, mind and spirit. From my perspective as a counsellor, the body is very important, as it ‘keeps the score’. Past trauma and stress gets stored in the body, through muscular aches and body posture. If left untreated, this stored stress eventually impacts the immune system and leads to more serious illnesses. Lorna can offer massage and reiki to release stored tension and emotion in a warm, secure, safe setting.
We have a lot of parking and on a drive to Chisbury you may see deer, pheasants, hares or the ducks from Chisbury pond. This is an ideal setting for counselling, as the drive through the country offers a chance to leave behind the every day and move into a different way of being and relating. The drive home also offers a space to come back into the world after a session.
