Bluebird Care recruits over 100 homecare staff – but more still needed…

A provider of award-winning quality home and live-in care is celebrating this week after helping more than 100 people from the local area find work in the last 12 months.

Kim Teagle, Recruitment Manager at Bluebird Care Newbury, has spearheaded the organisation’s efforts to appoint people from a range of backgrounds to the roles of care assistant, care supervisor, care coordinator and care champion.

Kim said: “With a growing positive profile across West Berkshire, we find lots of people coming to us looking for work. It’s been a real privilege to recruit over 100 people, providing them with jobs they enjoy and value. Working in the care industry is extremely rewarding. Knowing you’re making a huge difference to someone’s life by caring for them in their own home, and helping them retain their independence, is very fulfilling.”

Bluebird Care is a national provider of care in the home, specialising in working with customers who live with dementia, physical disabilities and many other acute and chronic conditions. Bluebird Care work alongside their customers’ families, social services and the NHS to ensure each person receives the care they need.

Bluebird Care offers a unique service of tailored care visits which range from anything from 30 minutes to full live-in support. As well as personal care they also help with meal preparation, welfare checks, shopping, social trips, visits to the hospital and provide extra support for post-discharge customers.

Due to a successful recruitment campaign over the past 12 months, the homecare provider has been able to ensure that staff are employed from many backgrounds.

Kim added: “We’ve helped school mums, retired women, college leavers and those looking for part-time work, all find a job they enjoy with us. Our aim is to ensure that applicants can use their existing skills, develop new talents and broaden their interests in the workplace. Our staff team are excellent, and thanks to their commitment, we’re able to continue delivering a high quality homecare service for those who need support in their own homes across West Berkshire. We’re always looking for new recruits. If you’re looking for a career change then get in touch.”
