Bluebird Care Newbury is celebrating its fantastic team of home care assistants, and the difference they make in their local communities every day, as part of a nationwide campaign which launched on Tuesday 8 May.
The #MakeADifference campaign, spearheaded by Bluebird Care, a national provider of home care in the UK, aims to highlight and raise awareness of domiciliary care as a profession, which enables vulnerable people to receive the care and support they require in the comfort of their own homes. The campaign will also showcase why Bluebird Care care assistants are #ProudtoCareAtHome.
With the rapidly increasing ageing population and rising numbers of people living with complex conditions that require specialist care – such as dementia, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease – and with more people choosing to opt for care at home, this campaign aims to highlight how patient, kind and compassionate individuals can make a real difference working in domiciliary care.
Joshua Makumbe and Sandra Owen are Bluebird Care Newbury’s longest-standing care assistants – both have been with the company for 10 years. They said:
“We know we are making a difference in our local community, and helping individuals remain in their own home. Moving can be unsettling, so anything we can do to prevent this should be done. We love spending time with our customers, hearing the stories, seeing the photos. We love being care assistants.”
Phil Miles Director of Newbury said:
“This is a fantastic campaign which aims to highlight the vital work that home care assistants across the country are providing day in, day out.”
