Autumn Skincare Tips from Andresa

Skin Care Tips by Andresa

I love this time of year: the trees are about to become a riot of colour, and the gentle autumn light is very flattering for everyone’s skin! Traditionally, autumn is a time of plenty so we’re bringing you a month of treats as we celebrate our forthcoming move to the Wasing Estate on 8th November, and telling you about a Halloween mask that you’ll actually want to wear.

pumpkinLook spectacular, not spooky! – The DermaQuest Pumpkin Mask

Divine smelling and incredibly effective, this little mask will work wonders on your skin throughout autumn and winter. Thanks to the inclusion of active pumpkin pulp and AHAs, your skin will be gently decongested, leaving a polished complexion after the very first use.

Autumn skin treatments

If you have sunspots, thread veins or unwanted hair, now is the perfect time to talk to us about IPL treatments. These treatments are best carried out when natural UV light is low, and they have the added benefit of making your skin look brighter so you’ll be glowing well into winter.

Boost autumn skin health from the inside out

Nutrients from foods that benefit our skin health will also benefit our overall health and wellbeing. Therefore, it is important to eat a diet packed with a variety of antioxidants and nutrients from fresh vegetables and fruit, whole grains, cold-water fish, lean protein, nuts, seeds and legumes. If you are not keen on eating lots of fruit and vegetables, why not try juicing them? I highly recommend a daily shot of wheatgrass juice to boost your intake of vitamins and minerals.

Maintain skin hydration

Maintaining the correct level of skin hydration during the winter months can be tricky, so start by drinking at least two litres of water a day. If the very thought of this makes you shiver, try drinking your water hot or warm, with a squeeze of fresh lemon and / or some grated ginger. Also, take a daily supplement of essential fatty acids which include omega 3, 6, and 9. I recommend Danné Montague-King’s EFAs. Take two capsules daily for glowing, hydrated skin alongside 15mg of Zinc for skin repair. To give your skin an instant boost of hydration on the outside, try DermaQuest’s Essential Hydrating B5 Serum. You will be thrilled with the results.

Enjoy all the beautiful things Autumn has to offer.
