A Brief Introduction to Soul Midwives

Anyone with a friend or relative diagnosed with a terminal illness or with an elderly relative may, at any time, find themselves needing to care for them. Many vital services are provided to support the person being cared for: there are far fewer for the carer. The new responsibility can be daunting and emotionally challenging and for most will be a wholly new experience. As with all unfamiliar things, sympathetic and informed help and advice can go a long way to helping make the situation positive and rewarding.

This is the service that Soul Midwives provide. Whether it’s advising on practical arrangements, engaging in gentle activities or therapies or merely listening to your concerns. Local Soul Midwife Claire Ball is able to offer this kind of help and support. She runs occasional and informal workshops which will also give you an opportunity to meet other non-professional carers.

The next one is on Sunday 25th October, 10am to 4.30pm at  Leckhampstead Village Hall, RG20 8QQ. Cost: £40 to include refreshments and a light lunch. Bookings are required.
