Thanks to PP reader Hilary Backwell for sending in these photos of a pair of robins nesting in her utility room. The room is separate from the house and the door is left ajar.
The robins discovered Hilary’s white basket on the shelf as a cosy place to nest last year. “Mum and Dad are very protective. I am in and out quite a lot of the utility room and they often dive bomb me!”

We had a pair nesting in our greenhouse one year and even with the door open the mother was hot and panting to keep cool!
Thankfully the young fledged ok.
