Wassail definition from Oxford dictionaries:
Spiced ale or mulled wine drunk during celebrations for Twelfth Night and Christmas Eve; example: ‘a mighty bowl of wassail in which the apples were hissing and bubbling’.
Wassail is a traditional drink used to celebrate orchards and cider, and wassail events are now popular.
This event will take place in the Community Orchard at the Nature Discovery Centre and is the annual celebration of our orchard and the new year; we’ll bless the trees, drink their health and frighten away evil spirits as we sing, bash pans and make as much noise as we can!
The event itself will be free, with refreshments available to buy.
Sunday, 13 January 2019 from 14:00-16:00.
