Victoria Park Family Fun Day @ Victoria Park
Jun 23 @ 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Victoria Park Family Fun Day @ Victoria Park | England | United Kingdom

Following the success of last year’s event, Newbury Town Council will be holding a Family Day in Victoria Park on Sunday 23 June from 12 noon to 4pm.

There will be entertainment throughout the day which will include traditional Punch & Judy shows, face painting, dancing and singing on the bandstand with the Ragtime Theatre School, and Watership Brass.

There will be live falconry displays throughout the afternoon and Kennet Radio will be there too broadcasting live from the event and we’ll even have a Fire Engine for you to explore.

The local branch of ‘Rugby Tots’ will be coming along so you can meet them. They run groups for 2 – 7 year olds to develop their social and physical skills, in a fun, positive environment.

The Bowls Club are happy to welcome new members and the Club will be open for everyone to look around and have a chat about membership and how you can get involved.

The tennis courts will be open too, and as part of the ‘Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekend’, our coaches, the National Tennis Association, will be on hand to chat about classes and how you can get involved. Membership for a whole year for a family costs just £44 and with the new floodlighting, the courts are even more accessible for everyone and if you join on the day, you get 1 month’s free membership!   You can even book a FREE coaching slot for the day via our website.

Our children’s Splash Park will be open, as it is every day throughout the summer from 10:30am until 5pm so children can make the most of the day, and hopefully the sunshine.  The Skatepark will be open to everyone so come along and show off your skills.

The ‘Friends of Victoria Park’, a volunteer group who welcome new members, will be available at the event to discuss their involvement.

Newbury Town Council would like to invite everyone along on Sunday 23 June to see what’s going on and enjoy all the facilities on offer!.

Hungerford Summer Festival presents Boo Hewerdine Live @ Croft Hall, Hungerford
Jul 3 @ 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm

We are excited to present Ivor Novello Award-nominated singer/songwriter, Boo Hewerdine, one of the greatest songwriter performers in the business, possibly best known for his work with Fairground Attraction.

Boo’s first tentative steps came with the band, The Great Divide before the formation of his much-loved eighties group The Bible.

Boo went on to enjoy international success with Eddi Reader (from Fairground Attraction) and their hit ‘Patience of Angels’ in 1995. He has also collaborated with Chris Difford of Squeeze fame, co-writing and producing over 30 songs initially for a show and accompanying soundtrack.

He is now in constant demand as a musician, songwriter and live concert performer and guarantees you a brilliant night out!

Tickets cost £10.00 from the Box Office (Newbury Building Society, Hungerford) and by telephone (01488683667) or via www.hungerfordsummerfestival.com

Unplugged Open Mic Night at Ace Space @ Ace Space
Jul 5 @ 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm
Unplugged Open Mic Night at Ace Space @ Ace Space | England | United Kingdom

Unplugged, West Berkshire’s most popular open mic night, is let loose the first Friday of every month (except August) at ACE Space.

Usually hosted by actor, musician and current ACE Space Chairperson, Adam Kotz, we showcase the very best up and coming in music, poetry and comedy. All styles, all ages, all levels of experience receive a warm welcome from our audience, so there’s no real reason not to sign up! If you love what you do, we probably will too.

Acts register on the door and each gets a minimum of 2 songs or equivalent. There is a PA system for vocals and ambient miking of acoustic instruments, and we have DI’s for bass guitars if required. There is a house Yamaha keyboard available to use.

Unplugged is super popular, so on occasion we can’t fit every performer in on the night – registration starts at 7pm and usually fills up quickly!

The doors and bar are open from 7pm and we take to the stage around 7:30pm. Our curfew is at 11pm and we try and fit in all who want to play.

£4 entrance, performers free.
