KATS are proud to present Monty Python’s SPAMALOT, a musical lovingly ripped off from the hugely successful 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Spamalot is a riotous comedy full of misfit knights, killer rabbits, dancing nuns and ferocious Frenchmen. Join King Arthur as he travels with his hapless Knights of the Round Table on a divine mission to locate the illusive Holy Grail – with uproarious consequences.
Described as being ‘Funnier than the Black Death’ and winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best New Musical, the hilarious Spamalot was written by Python legend Eric Idle, with a fantastic score co-written by John DuPrez including “Always Look On The Bright Side of Life“.

Our Market has been running for over seven years, and offers fantastic produce, arts and crafts, and an opportunity for friends and neighbours to meet over a cup of tea! We boast a great selection of things to eat, try and buy. The choice of food, dependent on the line up for each market, includes high-welfare pork, beef, lamb, venison and charcuterie; fresh Devon fish; organic bread and cakes; tasty cheese; home-made ready meals and deli goods; hand-made chocolate and pure coffee.
We also run our community stalls, selling fresh fruit and vegetables, local eggs, English cut flowers and cooked refreshments – bacon, chipolata or pulled pork rolls – with any profits contributing to the running of the Market, or going towards our ‘Charity of the year’ donation.
Visitors can also browse accessories; well-being products; toys; cards; plants and crafts; demos and meet local charities or community groups. Our children’s activity is always busy. While the youngsters are amused with arts and crafts, the parents can catch up with friends! The popular tea room, selling home-made cakes and proper tea and coffee, and the raffle, are always busy and offer opportunities to raise money for good causes.
Come along to the Village Hall on the last Saturday of most months (there are no markets in August and December) between 10am and 1pm, for a friendly welcome and some lovely things to tempt you and the family!

Brenna Hassett, on Sun 24th Feb 2019, 3pm Balcony Bar, Corn Exchange. Brenna is an archaeologist who specializes in using clues from the human skeleton to understand how people lived and died in the past.
The talk explores evidence of health and growth locked into the body, and how clues from archaeological teeth and bones can tell us key parts of the human story. Building on her work across the world, including Thailand, Greece, the Pyramids in Giza, a 10,000 year old village in Anatolia, and a series of basement labs in between, the talk will be an accessible journey through our recent evolution into a majority-urban species over the last 15,000 years.
15,000 years condensed in 50 mins – that’s a good use of time!
Brenna is also one of the cofounders of Trowel Blazers, an organisation dedicated to outreach activities aimed at encouraging participation of women and underrepresented groups in archaeological, geological, and palaeontological science. https://trowelblazers.com/about/ .
