Hungerford Food Festival – Sunday 8 October
Celebrating local & seasonal food!

With over 40 stalls of local produce, sizzling street food, local beer/wine/spirits bar, live cookery demos, children’s foodie fun, face painting, buskers, apple quiz & rapeseed pressing there is truly something for everyone at this year’s Hungerford Food Festival, including for the first time this year, caricature artist Simon Jardine. The festival takes place in Hungerford Town Hall (RG17 0NF) and up the High Street. Entry £1 (adults). U16s free.

Sizzling Street Food

Come hungry! There will be Thai curries, stone baked pizza, burgers, Asian street food, sausages, paella, bacon baps, delicious & healthy salads, quiches, cakes, crepes, ice cream & lots more!

Live Demonstrations/Talks

There will be a great variety of live cooking demos from risotto to cocktails plus a star turn by The Old Trout Smoker, Nick Lumley…

Think Global, Eat Local – Lawrence Woodward O.B.E., ex-Director of Elm Farm Organic Research Centre and one of the UK’s leading experts on organic farming, will talk at 2pm about how the food we eat influences major global issues like climate change, loss of diversity, antibiotic resistance and overall health.

Or if gardening is more your thing, bring your prize pumpkin to enter the Pumpkin Challenge on the Town Hall steps.

Buy your raffle tickets on the day to win a Meal for Two at newly re-opened The Blackbird in Bagnor, Festival Hamper, local produce hamper, award-winning Alder Ridge bubbly from Cobbs Farmshop, Eliane’s new Food to make the soul smile cookbook, large Empire Cafe lardy cake, recipe book stand from John Lewis of Hungerford Kitchens and lots more. Raffle in aid of HEAT (Hungerford Environmental Action Team).

Rose of Hungerford Cream Tea Trip
For the first time this year you can book a special Food Festival Cream Tea trip on the Rose of Hungerford Canal Boat.

The boat departs from Hungerford Wharf (just 3 minute walk from the Town Hall) at 2.30pm. Tickets must be pre-booked – click here for details.

Everyone wearing a HFF wristband will get a £1 refund onboard!

Food Bank & Harvest Service
There will be a Food Bank collection at the festival and St Lawrence’s Church is holding a Food Festival Harvest Service at 6.30pm.  Everyone is invited to a relaxed celebration with harvest hymns and a collection for the Food Bank.
