Second Chef Required in Froxfield

Brendoncare Froxfield is looking for a Second Chef to work closely with the Catering Manager and catering team, providing a range of high standard catering services to residents, staff and visitors.

Providing good meals is a vital part of the Brendoncare care and service delivery. This role will suit an experienced cook with a flair for creating appetising meals and a natural affinity for older people. You will need good communication skills, an ability to support, manage and motivate those around you, along with a desire to deliver exceptional service. Knowledge of the dietary requirements for older people would be an advantage.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Assisting with the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen
  • Food planning and preparation
  • Assisting with the management of budgets, ordering of supplies and stock control
  • Provision of 1-2-1 supervision, support and guidance for direct reports

Ensuring adherence to

  • Health, safety and hygiene legislative requirements
  • Brendoncare’s HACCP system
  • COSHH regulations within the team
  • Infection control procedures
  • The requirements for risk assessment
  • Brendoncare’s policies and procedures in day-to-day working

This role is for 36 hours, including alternate weekends to be worked on a rota basis.

In return we offer a hourly rate of £9.00, enhanced rates for working bank holidays, 5.6 weeks holiday including bank holidays increasing to six weeks with five years service.  In addition we provide training and continuing personal development, a free uniform, free DBS check and free staff meals when on duty.
