Apprenticeship Programmes

Newbury College hairdresserApprenticeships combine employment with both on- and off-the-job experience and training with study towards a nationally-recognised qualification. Using the Apprentice Vacancy Matching Service, Newbury College helps students find a job with a local employer. It has a team of experts on hand throughout the apprenticeship programme to provide support and encouragement.

Subjects include engineering, hairdressing, childcare, catering, computing, marketing, and many more.

Business Training

Newbury College is also skilled at developing training packages specifically for business organisations. It offers a full training-needs analysis to establish the specific training requirements, and then delivers on-site training to suit the needs of the business. It also offers a series of legal and management-based workshop at its campus on Monks Lane.

New Engineering Focus for 2017

Newbury College solutions labNewbury College has recently opened a brand new engineering solutions laboratory. Investment for the project came as a result of a successful bid to the Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) through their initiative to raise the profile of STEM in the local area.

The main focus of the new lab is to support learners on engineering courses, ranging from Level 2 to HNDs and beyond. The new facility will provide the opportunity for research and development and give students the chance to explore ideas within their chosen field.

Engineering apprentices and their employers can make use of leading technology to support their career progression and business development.

Level 2 courses include: Computer aided design, Electrical Installation and Engineering.

Level 3 courses include: Electrical Installation and Engineering. Higher education courses include: Electrical and Electronic Engineering HNC and HND Diplomas, Mechanical Engineering HNC and HND Diplomas.

Distance Learning

For those that prefer the flexibility of learning from home, the College also offers a range of free online distance learning programmes. Subjects include counselling skills, principles of customer service, principles of dementia care and understanding autism and many more.
