Greenwire Solar in Newbury offers bespoke alternative energy systems that are right for your home.

Installation of Solar Panels

Greenwire has installed Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels on many new and existing homes in the West Berkshire area. Solar energy is a rewarding investment, giving you free electricity, regular feed-in-tariff payments, and a great feeling of ‘doing the right thing’.  Doing your bit for the environment feels good – a typical domestic 4kWp system could save two tonnes of carbon dioxide per year, which is around 50 tonnes over its lifetime. Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels use the sun’s energy to generate clean, green electricity that you use in place of fossil fuel generated power in your home. It is one of the easiest and most beneficial renewable energy technologies to add to any building, and increasingly we are working with self-builders to include Solar PV on newly built and extended properties.

Our installations include:

  • a structural roof survey and wind load calculations
  • an electronic shade survey to predict energy generation levels
  • a workmanship guarantee, backed by the Independent Warranty Association
PV System Maintenance

PV systems are generally very trouble free, however if you do have problems please contact us for friendly and helpful advice. If your original installer has stopped trading & you want to move your inverter or your panels to repair or extend your roof, we can help.

Solar Battery Storage

Imagine being able to save your surplus energy to use at night for free, and sending virtually nothing back to the grid? At last, this is what solar PV customers have been waiting for! If you rarely use all the energy you generate in the daytime, and would like to become more self sufficient, battery storage is the solution.

Advances in technology combined with reductions in cost mean battery storage systems are now being designed for domestic customers and businesses.  We are delighted to be a Tesla Energy Certified Installer. For more details click here

Customer Testimonials

“I would recommend you to anyone. You know your business & you provide sound advice.  Your assessment of the project was the most detailed of the four we obtained.  Communication was faultless & the installation exceeded expectations in every way.” Mr M. from Ball Hill

After your initial visit and quote I was far more impressed with your knowledge and service than the other quotes I had obtained.  The quality of the installation and thoroughness of the work was excellent. My suggestions on panel placement and string configurations were taken into consideration.  Being a solar energy user changes your electricity usage, the washing machine etc. now goes on at opportunistic times when the sun comes out. Yield has so far been better than predicted by around 20%. ” Mr Bungay, Curridge

We choose Greenwire because Paul’s presentation was far better than the competition and Greenwire is a local company.  Paul explained the feed-in-tariff system very clearly, and the cost of our PV system from Greenwire was similar to other quotes we had.  You took note that we did not want silver edged panels and fitted black panels as we required. They look very good and were fitted with minimum disruption to us.   You thoroughly explained each stage even indicating where cabling would go.” Mr & Mrs Clark, Highclere
