The Harrow at Little Bedwyn

The Harrow exteriorThe Harrow at Little Bedwyn is one of the most highly acclaimed restaurants outside London.

Sue and Roger Jones purchased the former village-owned inn 18 years ago and have transformed it into a prestigious restaurant.  During this time they have held a Michelin Star for 12 years and also been awarded Decanter’s Restaurant of the Year, the AA’s Restaurant of the Year, The AA’s Wine Award for England (twice), The Independent’s Most Memorable Dining Destination and are in the top 50 UK Restaurants in the Sunday Times.

Ingredients for The Harrow are only sourced from ‘real’ farmers whose animals live in their natural habitat and are hand reared.  Free range meats, sustainable day boat fish, live shellfish and specialist growers of all fruit and vegetables allow the kitchen to produce tasting menus that are uncluttered and perfectly balanced.  The freshness of the food speaks for itself and there is an intensity of flavours which wow the palate.

Roger & Sue JonesThe huge selection on The Harrow’s wine list (currently 900 bins) has been tirelessly complied by both Sue and Roger with the help of tastings all over the world.

Every wine has been chosen personally and wines by the glass are constantly updated to reflect the very best quality and value for money. Each menu has a matching flight of wines to show the ultimate pairing combinations.

Customers’ comfort, enjoyment and relaxation are all important to the small team of staff, who have been trained to offer the very best in efficient but informal service.   The aim is for guests to leave The Harrow feeling that they have been personally pampered and have enjoyed something beyond the usual restaurant experience.

Customer Testimonials

‘We opted for the eight-course taster menu and from the very first course, I was convinced that the next course couldn’t exceed the previous one; I was wrong! All courses really were exceptional. The atmosphere in this small restaurant was lovely, nothing contrived or ostentatious. As were the staff; I liked the fact that there was no uniformed dress code for them and they were real people, genuinely friendly and not smarmy and robotic like in some places. We have eaten at many Michelin Star restaurants and I would most definitely rate this as one of the best. Highly, highly recommended.’  Amanda S, Salisbury
‘A lovely, warm dining experience, with amazing food and an extensive wine list. We ordered the set menu five-course lunch and it was perfect – a fantastic combination of flavours and some really impressive presentation and in a really relaxed environment. The staff were courteous and very knowledgable and the owner was very on top of wine pairings, which all made for a lovely experience’  Nicola and Paul, Swindon

‘We chose the six-course tasting menu and loved it.  If you want to be spoilt for an evening or to celebrate in style, and enjoy high class food and wines then this is definitely a must-eat destination.’ Jonathan, Newbury

The food was amazing, the staff were friendly and helpful. What a great place. All of the dishes were superb but if I had to pick a favourite it would be between the lobster, the turbot and the quail. I’m normally not a sweet eater but the desserts were wonderful too.’ Cliff Verrall, Kintbury.

“A stunning, hidden away restaurant, serving sublime food.” Hardens Best UK Restaurant Guide.

“There are at least three items on the menu that are as good as anything I’ve ever tasted.” Rod Liddle, The Sunday Times.
