April 14: salad recipe, astronomy, Crafty Craft, young performer opportunity, Nimbus cat diary

Welcome to this week’s Seasonal Snippets:

• fool proof Rainbow Salad Recipe from local nutritionist Kay van Beersum who co-wrote Bear Grylls’ Fuel for Life nutrition bible

• you can probably recognise Orion but do you know how to identify his two hunting dogs Sirius and Procyon? Thanks to Steve from Newbury Astronomical Society for his Guide to the April Night Sky

• this year’s Crafty Craft Race (fancy dress rowing race on Kennet & Avon Canal between Kintbury & Newbury) is on Monday 2 May with the theme of Rio Sporting Carnival. I’m putting a team together so let me know if you want to get involved. It’s lots of fun.

My Cat Diary by Nimbus  – after 6 weeks’ silence rebelling against fatcat-ism, Nimbus is back on the scales
