ext blue doorsRuth and Neil Shipman, formerly of Hungerford, now run three lovely gîtes located in the south of the Charente-Maritime region of South West France.

Renovated from old farm buildings and well maintained, they provide a modern living space yet maintain a great deal of character, with many exposed beams.

Each gîte has either one or two bedrooms and can accommodate up to 2 (+1), 4 or 5 people. There’s plenty of space for everyone in the grounds of nearly an acre and on the large terrace around the 10m x 5m chlorine-free swimming pool.

table & chairsRuth and Neil don’t want you to feel that you’re moving house when coming on holiday so each gîte comes equipped with everything you need for a comfortable self-catering holiday. They provide all linen and towels, including pool towels, all the cleaning materials you’ll need, and all consumables for the dishwasher and washing machine; they even supply the loo paper!  On arrival, the kitchen will be stocked with some basic staples and a welcome pack will be waiting for you.

Each kitchen has a dishwasher, oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle and coffee machine.  For entertainment, there’s UK satellite TV, DVD & CD players, Bluetooth speaker, Wi-Fi and a selection of books and board games. Outside, each gîte has its own fully-enclosed courtyard with patio area and pergola, and a barbeque.
